My Smart Lesson Plan

When I consider how teachers use technology, I find that some are very proficient at it.

Their ability to use simple gadgets to assist in teaching is exceptional, such as whiteboards, interactive boards, LCD projectors, mobile phones, etc. But the number of teachers in this category is not very encouraging.

A second group of teachers is less familiar with web-based technology, advanced software and hardware technologies in education, but they are always eager to learn and enjoy upgrading themselves, and they are a larger number than the first. In addition to these two groups, there is another group of teachers who are uncomfortable with technology or do not even want to learn it.

My dear friends with the rapid transformation in almost every sphere of life due to changing technology day by day it is now imperative for teachers, educators and all in the field of education to be aware of hardware and software technology, web-based technology or any other electronic technology that leads towards digital and analog technology that can create great changes in teaching-learning patterns, thereby changing the entire educational landscape.
To maximize the impact of teaching and learning, educational pedagogy must be redefined and reframed.
I was thinking about rich web-resources and I got the idea to plan lessons in a way that would achieve our learning objectives by using a SMART PLAN.
Well, I developed one and I've attached it to this post. It is very convenient for teachers to use, and it is also an effective way to teach techno-skills to those with no experience with technology. See how rich web resources can rejuvenate teaching in the classroom. In both practical and abstract aspects.

Use this animation to compare the cell size of organisms sitting on a small pinhead

This video will show
How big are cells compared to other objects? Animation by Genetics Science Learning Center,
University of Utah.

Above animations and videos will help teacher to make students visualize how small is the cell.
Teacher can develop a sense of appreciation in students about the work and importance of cells in our body

Use of Procaryotic Cell Model.

Cell comparision

This video compares Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cell.

Teacher`can use this animation to compare and differentiate between plant and animal cells & to learn about various cell organelles
Quiz
Teacher can use the following quiz to revise the understanding of student on the topic
Reflective question:- List down the things that go inside your body and think about various functions of the cell.

Participates in presentation

 Participates in quiz

Student will analyse critically the concept and will answer the question.

Graphical interaction with software / relevant webpage.

Recapitulation can be done by using NCERT BOOK on the plant and animal cell

Culminating activity :
Once the topic is over, real exercise for students will begin, students could be divided into small groups or pairs and could be assigned various activities, as a forum to display, summarize, extend, or share what they have learnt through assigned activity.

Activity 1 : Analyze, How the discovery of cell has helped in disease control and prepare a PowerPoint presentation ?

Activity 2 Participate in an online class on cell and share the content with the help of http://www.wiziq.com/classes/( class will be organized by a teacher)
I organized an activity for my teacher trainees and for others and shared about Technology integrated Lesson planning with them.Watch it here http://www.wiziq.com/class/classlist.aspx?Type=pastclasses&Start=3  the title of the class is technology integrated lesson planning

  1. Roma, you are truly a pioneering spirit. I appreciate the effort you make to help teachers and learners. I shall mentor my next batch of teachers using your materials above.

By the way, I have launched SADD: Society Against Drinking and Driving - teach Skype free to victims' families and help them connect through Skype and offer a mutual shoulder to cry on.. Hope to present (in person) to your team one of these days.

  3. Good one Roma. I was involved with a pioneer course called Bachelor in e-Education. We trained teachers thro the e mode. This was a pilot run tried by Yeshwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University and supported by Commonwealth of Learning. Our plans were mostly of this type as described by you. Hence i could connect to this plan. Congrats on this wonderful effort... Cynthia DCosta
